Literary review “Beyond the threshold

Pulitzer Prize winner Jhumpa Lahiri inaugurates literary review “Beyond the threshold – Porta Magica 2024“, organized by Libreria Rotondi with the patronage and collaboration of the Dante Alighieri Society, in collaboration with Anec Lazio, Piazza Vittorio APS, Esquilino 150. Each meeting will be led by Gianluca De Martino, physicist and writer.

Jhumpa Lahiri won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction with the collection of short stories “The Interpreter of Maladies”, her second book, “The Namesake”, was adapted into a film by director Mira Nair, in 2006. Lahiri is an American writer of Bengali origins who chose to use the Italian language for her works, which were then translated all over the world. In 2021 you published the “Roman Stories” from which we will start on Thursday 20 June at 7.00 pm to go “beyond the threshold”, to be more precise, beyond the first threshold: the one concerning the relationship between cultures and languages.

Every Thursday, from 20 June to 5 September, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, Rome, we will cross an ideal threshold, symbolically represented by the nearby Magic or Alchemic Door, meeting authors and books who have distinguished themselves for having favored innovative paths of interpretation of reality.

Exhibition organized by Libreria Rotondi with the patronage and collaboration of the Dante Alighieri Society, in collaboration with Anec Lazio, Piazza Vittorio APS, Esquilino 150 anni.
