Arezzo, 13 June 2024 – On Sunday 16 June at 6.00 pm the Edison bookshop will host the presentation of the book “RAGAZZO SOLO” by Lorenzo Giacinti published by Revolver Edizioni.

Pier cancels himself every night: he gets drunk and goes all out at the Blackout, together with the neighborhood kids, and in the morning he’s a zombie who works for a pittance. He lives by inertia, moving forward because he has to, and instead of asking for help he hasn’t responded for months to his sister’s calls, the only one who could save him. At almost twenty years old, Nina also has no dreams or plans, she has left school and feels empty. She stays indoors all day and goes out in the evening, when her mother goes to bed. She makes herself beautiful if she knows Pier is there, she wears heels and a skirt to impress. Yet he barely notices her. Of the entire neighborhood, the only one to have made it is Lucio. He left the city after high school, is a journalist and has fulfilled himself. His path, however, is destined to cross that of the usual ones once again, when Pier discovers that inside his belly there is a baby: a fetus in the eighth week. With direct and cinematic writing, as spare as it is precise, Giacinti challenges the reader’s expectations regarding family, identity and love, writing a novel about the search for oneself, on the consequences of abandonment and the value of belonging, whatever it may be.

Lorenzo Giacinti was born in Arezzo in 1982. After his artistic studies and a period of work in the fashion sector, he experimented with the language of cinema and directed the film “Women Without Men”, based on his own screenplay. He is already the author of the novels “Doppelgänger” and “The Perfect Life”, and of the trilogy of short stories “Future Memories”.
