The Ecodays have finally revealed the new winner in the Ecofor Books, the competition designed to highlight environmental and sustainability issues in the literary field. After Danilo Zagariaauthor of the volume On the high seas. Ducks, ecology, Anthropocene (Add Editore), the award for the Environmental themes and local authors section went to Francesca Volpeauthor of the volume Tuscany in Renault 4, journey on the paths of ecophilia and freedom (Infinito Editore).
Still in progress, however, theEcofor Cinefestivalwhich projects on the screen of the Agorà film club the 22 works selected from short films and spot themed commercials green. The winners, in this case, will be announced tomorrow, Friday 10 May: they will be decided by a “double” jury, composed on one side of Giovanni Bogani (The nation), Marco Migli (director Quinews-Toscanamedia), Paolo Marconcini (former mayor and former president of Geofor), Nicola Zappa (director), Stefano Pratesi (director and screenwriter), Leonardo Baldini (photographer and Dop) e Raffaella Afeltra (coordinator of Ecofor Cinefestival); on the other, one formed by some students of the 5A Costruzioni, Ambiente e Territorio of the Itcg “Enrico Fermi”: Francesco Carannante, Luca Parrella, Alberto Arrighini, Andrea Bertelli, Luciano Gialdini.
Meanwhile, as per the Ecodays programme, the initiatives relating to food and wine excellence also continued, this time with the talk dedicated to Adriano’s Centrocarni. The owner, Adriano Miniero, prepared soppressata and liver crostini on site, to the delight of the public present. Furthermore, the new conference was also held in the Ecofor pavilion, organized for the occasion byNational Association of Land and Irrigation Water Management and Protection Consortiawhich addressed the topic of the role of reclamation consortia with Nicola Conti of the Reclamation Consortium 1 Northern Tuscany; Martina Bencistà of the Reclamation Consortium 6 Southern Tuscany; And Stefano Pagliara of the Reclamation Consortium 4 Basso Valdarno.
“To recover the waste abandoned along the banks of the rivers and prevent it from reaching the sea, we collect it manually with our workers or with the volunteers of the associations and through the grates installed on the drainage systems – explained Conti – if the waste reaches the sea there are two problems: the first is the creation of microplastics when we carry out maintenance work on waterways with chopping operations; the second is the Lavarone which then, when it deposits on the beaches, cannot be disposed of by the activities of the coastal area”.

Furthermore, the Ecofor Libri competition will also end tomorrow: at 6.30 pm, atUniversity of Free Time in Via della Stazione Vecchia, the winners of the two fiction sections will receive a prize worth 500 euros: Sandro Campani for adults with volume Get up early. The book of mushrooms (and my brother’s), Einaudi publisher; And Francesco Niccolini for kids, author together with Marco Paolini of the volume The history of Vajont (Mondadori).
