Monday 13 May at 11.30 am at the ‘Florio’ Higher Institute of Erice, in the headquarters in via Berresi, Luca Trapanese – councilor for social policies of Naples, already author in 2018 of the bestseller ‘Born for you. Story of Alba told among us’, will present his new book entitled “Don’t ask me who I am”.

This is the penultimate appointment of the literary review “LibriAmoCi – Meeting with the Author” organized by the school in collaboration with the Galli Ubik-Erice bookshop.

The presentation was originally scheduled for March 25th, but due to the author’s inability to attend it was postponed to May 13th.

After the story of the little girl with Down syndrome who was left in hospital as soon as she was born and then entrusted by the court to Trapanese, in this new work of his, with the sensitivity that characterizes him in all his activities, the author tells what it means suffer – from an illness, for love, or because you don’t feel like you belong in the world – and what it means to live with others, to recognize yourself as equal in diversity, beautiful in imperfection.

“A meeting that we care a lot about – declared the Headmaster, Pina Mandina – for the story and the testimony of the author which, we are convinced, will be able to leave important food for thought among the young people who will be there to listen to him. Our task is to be able to develop an autonomy of thought among children that is at the same time accompanied by the empathy necessary to better deal with life, everyday life and coexistence with others. We are certain that the comparison with Trapanese will be full of emotions.”
