In Montegiorgio ‘The May of books’

As part of the annual program of ‘Montegiorgio città che legge’, the 2024 edition of ‘Il maggio dei libri’, an event to promote reading at all levels, is about to start. The event strongly supported by the Montegiorgese administration was organized in collaboration with the municipal library named after Monsignor Germano Liberati and the ‘Nati per Leggere’ association with the patronage of the Marche Region. “Montegiorgio has always had a strong sensitivity for reading – explains the councilor for culture Michela Vita – this is also thanks to the presence of the municipal library which houses hundreds of volumes and some valuable historical texts and to the many initiatives promoted. In recent years the children’s book market exhibition ‘Libro Vivo’, has opened a new window on this world especially among young and very young people, the latest edition of the exhibition highlighted the renewed passion for reading at various levels involving various age groups and of this we are delighted. In this edition of ‘May of books’, we will host several writers, some of whom are from Montegiorge, with whom we will also address important social issues. There will be animated reading meetings for children aged 0-6 in an itinerant form in the parks country, and to close a meeting with the journalist Remo Croci, all events will be free to enter”.

The program is really packed and full of ideas: we start tomorrow at 9pm at the library with a reading group that will discuss various texts. Friday 10 May at 9.15pm at Palazzo Passari presentation of the book ‘Heart, Minds, Hands. Stories of lives that heal’ by Samanda Pettenari.
