Six meetings with the protagonists of world literature, from Veneto to Europe and beyond. After the great success of the debut last year, the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene are ready to welcome the Second Edition of Una Collina di Libri into their World Heritage Site: the new, exciting international literature festival. A series of meetings with the Author that will bring internationally renowned writers, journalists and artists to castles, villages and towns in the World Heritage area.

The event, organized by the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, with the patronage of the Veneto Region, was presented today in Venice, at Palazzo Balbi, in the presence of Luca Zaia, President of the Veneto Region, Marina Montedoro, President of the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, and Francesco Chiamulera, Artistic Director of the event, creator and manager of Una Montagna di Libri, which today represents the excellence of the cultural offer of meetings and best-known and quality debates in Cortina d’Ampezzo, in the heart of another UNESCO Heritage site in the Veneto. A second edition, that of A Hill of Books, which will begin with one of the absolute protagonists of contemporary literature, and one of the most anticipated books of 2024. It will in fact be Eshkol Nevo, an Israeli narrator loved by millions of readers, winner of the Book Publishers Association Gold Prize, already author of the best sellers “The Symmetry of Desires” and “Three Floors”, to inaugurate the literary event. He will do it on Tuesday 7 May 2024, in the splendid headquarters of Castelbrando, in Cison di Valmarino (Treviso), at 7 pm, with the presentation of his brand new book “Legami” (ed. Feltrinelli Gramma), a collection of short stories, in bookshops since April 28, which return to captivate the reader around the infinite forms of desire. The exhibition will then see other events at the top of Italian and world literature taking place between spring, early summer and autumn. In fact, at the beginning of June, the protagonist will be Daniel Mendelsohn, winner of the Malaparte Prize, the Médecis Prize and the Méditerranée Prize, director of the super-prestigious New York Review of Books, author of the acclaimed Un’Odissea, which will bring the Italian premiere of the new book Ecstasy and terror (Einaudi). And then Cecilia Sala, who will join Daniele Raineri in the conversation about the new generations of Ukraine, Iran, Afghanistan; and again Aldo Cazzullo, with the next, awaited essay on history and literature; and finally, on a special Italian autumn date, Nino Haratischwili, a revelation writer of the new narrative of Georgia, a country at the center of the news due to pro-European protests and in favor of civil liberties, who will bring a preview of her new book to the Hills, by next release with Marsilio Editori, The Cat and the General. The authors will talk about it with Francesco Chiamulera. The complete program will be available starting in June.
