Imperia. I am five the municipalities in the province of Imperia that have joined the platform Giraskuolaa project that brings together those who want to sell, buy, exchange, lend, give away used textbooks, starting from those for lower and upper secondary schools up to those adopted at high schools and universities.

This morning, in the municipality of Imperia, the project for the new service for the exchange of used school materials was presented in the presence of the councilor for Educational Services, Laura Gandolfothe councilor for schools of Diano Marina, Sabrina Mexicothe municipal councilor delegated to the Pieve di Teco School, Massimo Aicardithe councilor for culture of Pontedassio, Benedetta Papone and the municipal councilor delegated to the Schools of San Lorenzo al Mare, Cinzia Balestra.

The platform is designed for Italian municipalities that want to offer their citizens a useful, ecological and virtuous service for free. As the authorities present underlined, the importance of the project is first of all to create a “network” between the municipalities of the school district who work together, throughout the territory, with the hope that it can soon be extended to other participating municipalities.

The platform, accessible from www.giraskuola.it, has three different sections, accessible in a practical and immediate way for families and students: 1st and 2nd grade middle school textbooks, school materials and finally various in which in addition to books students can exchange reading books.

«A project that concerns both l‘environment be the social, therefore also household spending. The novelty is networking, 5 municipalities all joining the same project, looking in the same direction across a larger territory. All school books are included on the site, divided by section as well as other spaces for various materials. The user, who registers on the site for free, can search by school, class and book and also find it within other municipalities in Italy. The idea was born from a Lombard family during the pandemic. It is important to reiterate that the site is completely free and no one interferes in the relationship of those who exchange school supplies” comments the councilor Laura Gandolfo.

Twofold objective therefore: reuse and saving money on the cost of school materials
