Fascist Cremona in Azzoni’s book. New reprint after 11 years

A reprint of the now unobtainable book published 11 years ago with the history of fascism in Cremona and its province from 1922 to 1945. A volume with the research by Giuseppe Azzoni with some added details, such as the place index based on archival research, documents and testimonies of the timestarting from the origins of fascism. And some essays by Cremonese scholars which make the work even more complete. The reprint of the volume was presented today in the Sala Quadri in the Municipality of Cremona.

“From these studies emerges a Cremona that is very much dominated by this situation,” said the author. “It was because quite a few were on the side of Roberto Farinacci (in Cremona fascism is linked to his name), and then why there was surveillance everywhere.”

“Farinacci”, underlined Azzoni, “has a personality of his own, so much so that he didn’t always get along with Mussolini. He was very loyal to the Germans”. TOAccording to studies, anti-fascism in Cremona is also quite significant.

He was also present at the meeting Gian Carlo Corada, president of the provincial Anpi: “Azzoni,” said Corada, “played a long-term role, and also traced the contradictions of the fascist movement throughout that period. It is a book that cannot be missing in the homes of the people of Cremona”.
