When you die, it remains with me, is the title of the new Zerocalcare book due out on May 7th. A graphic novels different from all the others because it investigates and focuses on the relationship with the father. A few days after its release in bookstores, the well-known Roman cartoonist spreads an ironic video on social media with a comic about his mother’s reaction to reading the new book. «What an ugly cover!», exclaims the woman addressing her son, Michele Rech. “You look like a bat to me, you’re all hunchbacked, couldn’t you have stood upright?”, she adds. In short, not the classic reaction one expects, but one that fits perfectly with the character designed by Zerocalcare. At the end, with the touch of humor that distinguishes him, the cartoonist adds: «Consider, however, that my mother liked the series Adrian of Celentano…”. In a previous video, in recent weeks, Zerocalcare had shown the reaction of the father, who, despite his son’s reassurances on the fictional character of some parts of him, seemed not to have reacted particularly well.
