Young readers grow up: success for ‘Libro viva’

The 11th edition of ‘Libro Vivo’, the children’s book exhibition which took place in recent days in the premises of Palazzo Sant’Agostino di Montegiorgio, ended successfully. This year, more than ever, the event recorded record numbers, which highlight how projects and workshops have made it possible to involve readers who are not just very young. Just to mention: 786 books on display from eight different publishing houses; hundreds of books sold, constant presence of children from the schools of Montegiorgio, Montappone, Francavilla d’Ete, Falerone, Torre San Patrizio and Rapagnano, all contributed to recording over 700 entries to the exhibition. The exhibition is enriched by many initiatives: meetings with the author, reading workshops and much more. Among these, guests such as Marco Moschini, Diego Mecenero, Samuela Baiocco, Patrizia Baglioni deserve a mention; or the Lis (Sign Language) workshop performed by Diletta Coppola. “I take this opportunity to thank on behalf of myself, the Mayor and the entire Administration – declares the councilor for culture Michela Vita – the management of the Library in the person of Laura Ciucani, the culture office of the Municipality Ramona Ferri, the school director Alessandra Pernolino, all the teachers, students and families who, like never before this year, have welcomed the stimuli launched by ‘Libro Vivo’, showing enthusiasm and sharing. new ideas to propose, always with the ultimate aim of highlighting the enormous wealth that Montegiorgio possesses: a well-stocked and active Library. Not just a physical place, but an important resource made up of men and women who think that reading is one of the most realistic and current forms of change and evolution”. B.C
