Presentation of the illustrated book “Think of others”, a poem by the Palestinian poet Mahmud Darwish

The Orvieto Coordination for Palestine – a tormented land that has proudly resisted for over 70 years despite the Israeli occupation, claiming its right to exist – continues its initiatives in support of the self-determination of the Palestinian people. The dramatic events that have engulfed the Gaza Strip, with the complicity of Western governments (including the Italian one), which behind the do-good facade continue to militarily support the Israeli government, are becoming architects and accomplices of a genocide that since last month October caused 34,000 deaths, of which over 15,000 were children. History will judge them.

Only a hypocritical and instrumental interpretation of the facts could give rise to ambiguity as to who, in this matter, is the aggressor and who is the attacked; but the propaganda spread by the mainstream media on a daily basis tends to reverse the parties.
For these reasons, an equally daily work of counter-information is necessary, starting from support for the boycott of companies that do business with Israel and their products exported all over the world: from IT to sporting goods, through agricultural products, insurance, the food and confectionery sector, mineral waters and many others. In this regard, we invite you to download from the website www.orvietopalestina.org the information brochure drawn up with the support of www.bdsitalia.org

Saturday 27 April at 5.30pm, in Orvieto at the Atrium of the Palazzo dei Sette, we will pay homage to the millenary Arab and Palestinian culture with the presentation of the book “Think of others” with the reading in Italian and Arabic of one of the most significant poems by the Palestinian poet Mahmud Darwish.
