“The shepherd and the sheep” the new book by Francesco Pittò

The presentation of the book entitled “The shepherd boy and the sheep” written by Francesco Pittò. The text starts from the narration of a popular legend that has spanned the centuries, up to the present day. The volume with the subtitle “Custodi di Maria SS.ma di Sovereto” is very rich in identity testimonies, stories from different angles, anecdotes and photographic material: the aim is to ensure that the traditions can remain authentic, nourish themselves and continue to distinguish the our roots, our culture, our sense of belonging to the city.

In the text, popular tradition is not an end in itself, but contains educational implications which will be discussed during the evening.
They will speak at the event, sponsored by the Municipality of Terlizzi (as well as the book). Francesco Pittòauthor of the work, Daniela Zappatore, Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Terlizzi, Don Roberto De Bartolo, parish priest of the Co-Cathedral of San Michele Arcangelo e Michelangelo De Chirico, mayor of the city of flowers. He will moderate the meeting Paolo Alberto Malerba.
The event will take place exactly on the day following April 23rd, the feast of the Madonna of Sovereto, a timeless date for the people of Terlizzo and which renews the city’s indissoluble bond with the Black Virgin year after year.
