The history of Carnia Corse becomes a book

The presentation of the book “Carnia Corse, Ricordi and Racconti”.

On Friday 19 April at 7 pm at the “Luigi Candoni” Theater in Tolmezzo, the book “Carnia Corse, Memories and Stories” by Claudio Lomuscio and Paolo Pugnetti. A journey that starts from the end of the 60s to arrive at the present day, through stories, anecdotes, curiosities, details and numerous photographs.

A book within the reader’s reach passionate about motorsports, but also simply curious. The story of pilots, navigators, mechanics protagonists in over 50 years of motoring in Carnia. From the pioneers of rally and uphill speed sports, who faced their first races with production cars, to the champions who marked aera in famous races that were held in Carnia: the Eastern Alps Rally, the San Martino di Castrozza Rally, the Carnia Rally, the Tolmezzo – Verzegnis, a time trial that later became Verzegnis – Sella Chianzutan.

In the evening presented by the journalist Marco Angileri, they will take turns on the stage, in addition to the authors, also includes numerous characters who have written important pages in the history of motoring in Italy, and also local drivers and navigators, who with their contagious passion have left an indelible mark, thus giving life to an extraordinary social phenomenon which has involved hundreds of drivers and navigators, who have come to Scuderia Carnia Corse from all over the region.

For the organization of the evening, the authors of the book and the old guard of Carnia Corse made use of the collaboration of the Scuderia Carnia Racing of the president Alessandro Prodorutti, a partnership that together first with Carnia Corse srl and subsequently with Carnia Pistons, a team that organizes the Valli della Carnia Rally has collected an important legacy in promoting and supporting the sport of motor racing in Alto Friuli, the flagship of national motorsport.
