The 2025 season of Paolo Citrini’s Dinamo Sassari Women ends with a defeat, falling 65-86 against Derthona of the former Sara Toffolo in front of their fans. A match that remained balanced for two quarters, with the gap at +2 in favor of the guests who then, returning from the changing rooms, put their foot down on the accelerator, bringing the match and the two points to their own.

Balanced start at the Palazzetto with the Bank trying to dictate the line of the match driven by Carangelo’s plays and Poindexter’s triple which is worth +4. Tortona, however, comes out in the match as the minutes go by, with former player Toffolo giving the lead to the guest’s reaction who, thanks to the bombs in a row from Leonardi and Melchiori, create an 8-0 break which is worth 20-24 at the sound of the first siren. New period but same music, with balance reigning supreme in the match. Sassari first brings the scoreboard back to parity with Poindexter, then with Treffers he puts the arrow and overtakes. Point-to-point battle that holds sway, but Derthona revs up the engine when Dinamo has to forcibly give up Richards. The guests led by Fondren fly to +9. Sassari, however, does not give up and raises its head with Carangelo and Poindexter who drag the blue and whites back to -2 at the sound of the second siren.
Returning from the locker rooms, Sassari struggled to find the way to the basket, with Derthona thanking them by reaching +8 with Fontaine’s bomb. Poindexter tries to shock her teammates, but Fontaine once again does badly from distance and Melchiori scores 2/2 in close quarters. Tortona reaches +12, but the American number 21 still tries to keep the Bank alive, closing the gap to -9 at the sound of the third siren (62-53). As the minutes went by, Richards’ absence weighed heavily on Dinamo, but in a stoic manner the Sassari team tried everything to have their say until the end. Tortona, however, thanks to the long rotations and the different quality present among its ranks, went further, putting the match in the safe with 4 minutes to go with Dotto’s triple.
