In the last episode of our Basketmercato podcast hosted by Orazio Cauchi, we talked about all the latest news and most important rumors regarding the European transfer market for next season. The relationship between is becoming increasingly tense Guglielmo Caruso and Guerri Napoli: could the center soon leave Campania? Below are all the details of the situation, explained in this extract from the episode.
A bit of a particular situation at Napoli around Guglielmo Caruso. The big man arrived with great fanfare in the summer, representing one of Naples’ main additions in the summer transfer market, as it was also a return home for the player. So far, however, Caruso’s homecoming has been less exciting than expected. His performances have been quite disappointing and in recent weeks his playing time has also been decreasing, so much so that the local Naples press has speculated on his possible exit even during the current season, despite Caruso having signed a multi-year contract with Napoli in the summer.
From the checks we have been able to carry out, at this moment it honestly does not seem that the parties are actually close to a resolution of the existing agreement, so it is not so obvious that Caruso could leave the club already during the season. What is certain is that until now Caruso has struggled to integrate into coach Alessandro Magro’s system and there seems to be a bit of disappointment on the player side. But even in this case I would say that it is likely that it will take some time to truly understand how this situation will end, and it is unlikely at least at the moment that the player will be able to move at short notice. Then we will obviously see the developments that will take place in the coming weeks.
