“Hidden in full sight”, the annual collective exhibition of VenetoFotografia APS, created with the patronage of the Municipality of Treviso, will be inaugurated on Friday 9 January 2026, in the Salone of Palazzo dei Trecento.

The now consolidated appointment with the shots of the members of the Treviso association is renewed until January 25th, capable of attracting several thousand visitors every year: the moment in which VenetoFotografia returns to the public the work carried out during the previous year. For most of 2025, in fact, 24 members of the association worked on the development of their respective projects with the artistic direction of the Udine photographer Lorenzo Zoppolato, who guided them in the creation of a coherent exhibition itinerary, despite the diversity of perspectives. “Hidden in plain sight” is the theme chosen for this edition. It refers to what is often not seen because it is too close, absorbed by habit. Photography thus becomes an observation tool capable of bringing to the foreground stories, places and presences that inhabit everyday landscapes without asking for attention, inviting us to stop and reconsider what we take for granted. The poster, created by Manuela Gennburg, president of VenetoFotografia, is a simple scene, linked to the game of hide and seek, which becomes an immediate metaphor of appearing and disappearing, of the desire to be seen and of the tension between seeking and being found, clearly introducing the theme of the exhibition. The exhibition features very different works. There are those who have chosen to tell a personal story of redemption through agricultural work, bringing to light a discreet, normally invisible presence; those who have focused their gaze on elements of the urban landscape that were once central to the life of the city and today reduced to a simple background; who turned their attention to the people who, in silence, take care of capitals, shrines and religious images scattered across cities and countryside; and those who observed surveillance devices in public spaces, questioning the relationship between security, control and freedom. A plurality of subjects that together compose a choral story, inviting us to reconsider what inhabits our daily lives without asking for attention.
The theme of the exhibition is also highlighted in the introduction of the catalog that accompanies it, in which the participating photographers highlight their desire to «restore its complexity to the visible and put back into circulation the ability to recognize what, although close, remains in the shadow». Because, they further state, “seeing better means inhabiting the reality that surrounds us better”. The exhibition, with free entry, will be open until January 25th every Friday from 3pm to 7.30pm; Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 7.30pm.
