The photographer Felice Marco Monopoli
It focuses on the faces of the territory and for this reason it is entitled “Men and women of the Terra delle Gravine”: it represents a photographic exhibition of the works created by the photographer Felice Monopoli.
It will be officially presented on Sunday 16 June, from 7pm to 9pm, at Palazzo Baronale in an event organized by the Lions Club of Castellaneta, with the patronage of the municipal body, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the friendship pact “Ravines and rock churches” signed in same place on May 30, 2009.
At the time, 10 Lions Clubs and as many mayors of the municipalities of Castellaneta, Matera, Laterza, Ginosa, Massafra, Mottola, Palagianello, Altamura, Gravina di Puglia, Santeramo in Colle and subsequently Crispiano and Grottaglie signed an agreement aimed at “dissemination and knowledge as well as use and valorization of the numerous ravines and rock churches existing in their territories, constituting a natural, landscape and historical heritage of absolute value, wanting to contribute to cementing brotherhood and collaboration between the populations of the respective municipalities, linked by centuries-old bonds and traditions , as well as to help promote and encourage cultural tourism”.
The exhibition will be open at Palazzo Baronale, in Piazza Maria Immacolata di Castellaneta, at 7pm on Sunday 16 June and will continue, from 7pm to 9pm, until 23 June, when the faces of two Peucezi will be added, Platuro and Medella, characters of a cartoon created this year by the Lions, which will be screened in theaters.
