In Sondrio an exhibition dedicated to Angelo Vaninetti

On the centenary of his birth, the Municipality of Sondrio dedicates an exhibition to the painter Angelo Vaninetti, entitled “The intelligence of reality”, curated by Elena Pontiggia. It will be an opportunity to discover over forty works by the artist, so evocative as to offer citizens and all enthusiasts the opportunity to retrace a career full of recognitions and tributes at both a national and international level. The paintings will allow us to explore hidden traits of the human soul, as the artist himself explained:

“My painting is unexpected and far from the ephemeral, from the emptiness and omnipotence of today’s life. My art is consolatory, it is like a refuge in which to find peace by thinking deeply”.

The inauguration of the exhibition is scheduled for Friday 10 May, at 7 pm, at Palazzo Sassi de’ Lavizzari, and will be preceded, at 5.30 pm, by a conference by the curator Elena Pontiggia in the Besta Room of the Banca Popolare di Sondrio.

In the hearts of men and women of all times

“As the municipal administration we express a profound sense of gratitude to the Vaninetti Museum for having allowed us to celebrate the painter Angelo Vaninetti on the centenary of his birth – declares the councilor for Culture, Education and Instruction Marcella Fratta -. In Vaninetti’s painting we find the sense of our territory which is returned to us not only in its naturalistic, landscape, architectural and social aspects but also in those intrinsic value aspects that only the brush of a great artist can bring out and make eternal. Vaninetti’s paintings can speak to the hearts of men and women of all times, thus demonstrating his great ability to make the love for everyday objects eternal, the small details of a peeling door, a vase of cut flowers or a patch of sky above a cabin”.

The exhibition dedicated to the painter Angelo Vaninetti will remain on display until November 10th and can be visited during the opening hours of the Valtellinese Museum of History and Art: from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm. The initiative was promoted by the Municipality of Sondrio with the collaboration of the Angelo Vaninetti Museum, the contribution of Bim and Banca Popolare di Sondrio, the patronage of the Province, the Valtellina Mountain Community of Sondrio, the Pro Valtellina Foundation, the Order of Architects and the Order of Engineers.
