The story of the MABArt artistic residencies arrives at UNESCO during a dedicated meeting at the Paris Headquarters on 9 April, thus consolidating their status as a flagship project in the field of cultural and artistic education in Italy and around the world.

The presentation was made possible thanks to the precious support of Ambassador Liborio Stellino, Permanent Representative of Italy to UNESCO, who facilitated the convergence of two top figures of the organization: the Deputy Director General for Education, Stefania Giannini , and the Deputy Director General for Culture, Ernesto Renato Ottone Ramirez.

During the meeting, the two UNESCO representatives expressed their praise for the MABArt initiative, underlining the perfect alignment of this innovative and interdisciplinary teaching project with what is reported in the new UNESCO Framework for Cultural and Artistic Education , adopted at the Abu Dhabi World Conference in February.

The artistic residencies of the MABArt project represent a new approach to cultural and artistic education, actively involving educational institutions, museums, galleries, libraries and other cultural places. This allows students and teachers to immerse themselves directly in art and culture, thus enriching their educational path and stimulating their creativity and sensitivity.

The project, promoted by the “Costaggini” Higher Education Institute of Rieti in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Merit, is part of the National Digital School Plan. The curatorship and scientific coordination are by Lorenzo Micheli and Massimiliano Ventimiglia.

The meeting was attended by school delegations from various Italian cities, including Ruvo di Puglia, Novi di Modena, Avellino, S. Prospero, Naples, Popoli, Courgné, Castellamonte, Fermo, Monterotondo, Pachino, Marsala, Rieti and Torre del Greco .

Present at the event and excited was the Headmaster of the “Costaggini” Institute, Alessandra Onofri, who rejoices in this important recognition and is committed to relaunching her commitment and that of the entire School for the cultural and artistic development of the country.
