Daria Bignardi today she is a writer but also a journalist, television and radio presenter. Taking a photograph of her personal career is a big undertaking because her professional path has developed in different fields and it is difficult to portray it as something static. 24 years later Daria Bignardi spoke in the living room of Caterina Balivo to The right time when he hosted the first edition of Big Brother with Marco Liorni.

The words of Daria Bignardi

«The first Big Brother was a great sociological fresco, it changed the way we make television», explained Daria Bignardi to La Volta Buona. «We all watched him, in fact I would have preferred to perhaps see him from the sofa. I did Tempi Moderni which was the first program I wrote, a talk show that aired on Saturday afternoons on Italia 1, and it was a very contemporary program.

At the time the director of Canale 5 was Giorgio Gori and he thought that to host Big Brother we needed a journalist who was an expert in customs and sociology and proposed it to me. At the time we knew nothing about this program, it had only aired in Spain, we had no idea what we were in for and so I accepted.”

«Eugenio Scalfari – concluded Daria Bignardi – wrote that Big Brother was the devil, he said that reality shows would destroy television and that’s why I said, “irresistible, I have to do it”. It makes me very happy to see him again on television, he was a truly wonderful person, even from a human point of view. I started doing television late, I had already been a journalist for several years.”
