Mugello: The 10th edition of the “Firenze” award

My friend Dr. Roberto Marcori, well known in Mugello and particularly in Barberino, for having contributed to the total restoration of the beautiful organ of the Pieve di San Silvestro and for having organized large vocal and instrumental concerts over time within the aforementioned Barberino pieve, kindly brings us aware that next Thursday 9 May 2024, the 10th event of the “Florence Award – Ada Cullino Marcori”in memory of his mother (this family lived in Vicchio during the Second World War and ran a Stock liqueur factory near the train station – ed.), who left a profound mark on Florence in the cultural and solidarity field.

Under the presidency of Dr. Cosimo Ceccuti, of the “Spadolini Nuova Antologia” Foundation, the awards for this edition have been awarded; ex aequo prize, Maurizio Francini and Massimo Generoso for the volume “Coverciano, a legend that continues”; Sara Onofrietti for her degree thesis “Being museums today: the cases of the Uffizi Galleries and the Accademia Gallery”; special Jury prize to Donatella Lippi, editor of the volume “Di lay from Rio Freddo, Careggi 1956-2021”; special recognition from the Jury to Elisa Bassetto, editor of the volume “Carteggio Carlo Lodovico Ragghianti – Ugo La Malfa” and to Marcello Lazzarini for the volume “Those fantastic journeys through time with the great protagonists of history”.

During the awards ceremony, Maestro Monsignor Stefano Ulivi, parish priest of Barberino di Mugello, will perform pieces of organ music by Lèon Boellmann (1862-1897). Entry subject to availability. Reservation is recommended via email to: [email protected].
