The carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Territorial Department of Corigliano Rossano, with the investigative coordination of the Castrovillari Public Prosecutor’s Office, directed by the Chief Prosecutor Alessandro D’Alessio, arrested a 49-year-old criminal, considered seriously suspected of having “detained for the purposes of dealing”, different types of narcotic substances.
In the circumstance the man, despite being subjected to “house arrest” at his home in the Mirto hamlet of the municipality of Crosia, during a house search was found in possession of 12 wrappers – heat-sealed and vacuum-packed – where approximately 800 grams were kept of marijuana. The searches carried out in the house also allowed the recovery of approximately 50 grams of hashish and about ten grams of cocaine. All the precautions used by the interested party to hide the various types of narcotic substances that he possessed did not serve to elude the control of the carabinieri, who were also able to find other material deemed suitable for dividing and packaging the individual doses intended for assignment. Not even the extreme attempt by the interested party to throw away part of the narcotic was worth it and, once recovered, it was seized and made available to the investigating authority. The narcotic nature of the seized substances was ascertained using the reagents in use by the Carabinieri, while the qualitative values of the narcotic will be ascertained with subsequent laboratory analyses.
On the basis of the evidence collected, the criminal was arrested and taken to the Castrovillari prison, where he will remain at the disposal of the magistrates of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the same centre.
