«Greedy», when the pedaling is assisted by good food

There are already over 500 people registered for Ingorda 2024, the ride assisted by good food on the Food Valley Bike cycle path in the Lower Parma area which was officially presented at Cibus on the stand of Confagricoltura Parma, an organization which is among the partners of the initiative.

«The Ingorda – explain Ivan Saracca, of the organizational staff, and Claudio Mendogni, of Levante Bike – is a cycling touring event that will be held on 1 June 2024 which includes two routes: the Half Ingorda of 40 km from Parma to Colorno with 5 gastronomic stages and the Ingorda of 80 km from Parma to Busseto with 9 gastronomic stages”.

In the various refreshment points – starting from the Barilla factory in via Mantova – you can taste pasta, Parmigiano Reggiano, Zucchini plums, anolino morbino, tortèl dòls, raw shoulder of Palasone, cooked shoulder of San Secondo, cracklings, culatello and spongata.

Among the new features this year is the possibility of visiting the Mezzani aquarium.

Registrations are open until May 20th on the website www.ingorda.eu with discounts for Fiab, Uisp members and groups of more than ten people.

The event was presented during a conference at Cibus hosted by chef Mario Marini. «We are proud to be among the promoters of this initiative – declared Roberto Gelfi, president of Confagricoltura Parma – because it combines physical activity, valorisation of the territory and agricultural companies, creating a close link with the typical foods of the localities that are crossed during path”.

Green light from Fiab (Italian Environment and Bicycle Federation), represented by Andrea Mozzarelli: «We will be able to admire beautiful views of our territory by moving not only our legs, but also our jaws».

Among the interventions also that of the regional councilor Matteo Daffadà: «L’Ingorda is a fine example of synergy between municipalities that work together and share ideas».

Finally, a word to the local administrators. Luca Concari, councilor of Busseto, underlined the great value of the «Food Valley Bike, an infrastructure available to cycle tourists all year round», while Francesco Ilardo, deputy mayor of San Secondo, highlighted the beautiful partnership between San Secondo, present on the track, and Sissa Trecasali to promote the shoulders together: cooked and raw.
