Tornado in the USA, the story of the child hero who saves his family in Oklahoma
Descriptive text here

An incredible story from the USA. A nine-year-old boy managed to save his parents after the car, with the whole family on board, was swept away by one of the tornadoes that are devastating Oklahoma, in the southern United States. Branson is now defined as a “hero” by the American media and his story is indeed incredible. The parents, Wayne and Lindy Baker, together with their son were fleeing by car in an attempt to reach a tornado shelter, when their car ended up in the vortex of the storm, was lifted into the air and violently slammed against a tree. Dad and mum were seriously injured and trapped between the sheets of metal. The child managed to free himself and run, in the middle of the night, with only the help of a flashlight, and into the midst of the tornado, and then asked for help.

In ten minutes, the child managed to travel a kilometer and a half, enough distance to reach a neighbor’s house and bring help. The parents, who suffered broken backs, necks and ribs, were admitted to intensive care at the local medical center. The father also lost part of a finger and fractured his sternum and an arm. The wife damaged a lung and fractured her jaw.

The last thing Branson said to them, before running for help, was: “Mom, dad, please don’t die, I’ll be back.” And he kept his word. “He IS my superman,” an uncle told local media. “And that’s what he also told me, it was really a superhero thing: ‘I had to save my parents’.” A little giant.
