Hours of tension in Germany, where the traces of a six-year-old autistic child have been lost for four days. It happened precisely in Lower Saxony, in Bremervoerde: since Monday hundreds of rescuers and an entire community have been mobilized in the search. Little Arian left his home alone, as shown by the footage from some cameras on site. «Several hundred people are currently being mobilized in the search, including police, firefighters, the Red Cross and the DLRG rescue company. The situation is very serious, but we still have hope of finding him alive”, explained the spokesperson of the local police, Heiner van der Werp.
The traces
“Traces were found along the river, going in a northerly direction,” added the Police. The searches are carried out with helicopters, a tornado, drones and dogs, but at this point we also proceed with particular measures, precisely because of the pathology of the little one, who does not speak and does not respond to any calls. Rescuers are using colored balloons, snacks and gummy bears, attached in different strategic points, to try to attract Arian’s attention. The little boy wears only a jogging suit, a sweater and socks, and moves through the woods and countryside on very cold days: “The first night there was a frost, in the following ones the temperature was around 3 degrees” , continues van der Werp. The investigators still hope to be able to find him: «he could still be alive. And we have not decreased the intensity of the searches”, they assure.
The army is also on the field
The army also took part in the search for little Arian. Around 450 soldiers were involved in the operations in total, as well as police, fire brigade and Red Cross officers. The child does not speak and does not respond to his name, but he would also be insensitive to cold, hunger and thirst, and may have hidden. Also for this reason, in the hope of finding him still alive, he is resorting to every means to attract the little one’s attention.
