Horses escape from Buckingham Palace, panic in London

Horses escape in central London and 4 people are injured. Moments of panic this morning in the heart of the City, with an unknown number of horses – apparently having escaped from an armed forces stable – which allowed themselves a dangerous excursion among cars, buses, bicycles and pedestrians.

According to the BBC, the horses were spotted at Buckingham Palace around 8.30am today before escaping. Two horses, in particular, caused panic at a gallop: one black and one white, with their coats heavily stained with blood. One of the two horses collided with a taxi on Buckingham Palace Road, shattering the windows. The police also recorded a collusion with a doubledecker bus, the characteristic double-decker vehicle. In the end, as the armed forces announced, all the horses were ‘recovered’. “A number of armed forces horses escaped during a routine exercise. All horses were recovered and taken to the stable. Some people and some horses were injured and received appropriate treatment,” the army note.
