Anyone who has ever been on the road, driving or even simply as a pedestrian, will have always, since childhood, noticed this particular device with three alternating lights that come on.
It is of course the traffic light, the appliance which regulates road traffic flows, indicating according to the colors who, when and where has the right to pass, and vice versa who needs to stop.
As we learn from an early age, green is the color of permissions: if we see green, we can pass, if instead there is yellow it’s time to slow down because, then, with red, the stop goes off.
And unfortunately we also learn that there are not just a few, on the contrary, there are many who continue to violate one of the clearest and most sacrosanct rules of Traffic Laws.
How would one live on the street without it traffic lights? It would be a jungle, with no one able to respect the sense of precedence. Or not? It would be possible live without any traffic lights?
Here is the city where there are no traffic lights
Maybe you might not believe it, but it is very possible, indeed: there are already communities that have adopted this lifestyle, that is, they have abolished traffic lights and, apparently, in their parts, things work. Yes, it’s all true: the traffic lights have all been removed. Let’s talk about the case of a city of 50 thousand inhabitants in which there are no traffic lights. It is found in Spain, in particular.
Specifically, the city without traffic lights is the Spanish municipality of Pinto, which is located a short distance from Madrid. In this community it was decided to follow a sort of experimentation with a new alternative system for regulating traffic flows, which has allowed this municipality to eliminate traffic lights from its streets for almost 2 decades. But how did they do it?

In short, the flow of traffic and the rules of precedence are entrusted solely to roundabouts, which are designed in every way to help cars, pedestrians crossing and any other road user. And apparently it works, with an improvementthe flow of cars in transit, a decrease in car speeds and above all a drastic drop in road accidents.
Zero serious accidents appear to have occurred in this location recently deadly, so to speak. Apparently more than an experiment, this seems like a decidedly repeatable path, so much so that today there are several European cities that do not have traffic lights in the streets or that they are about to eliminate them.
