«The “democrat” Instagram blocked my activity on my page. Without any warning, without any communication.” This was announced on X by Nicolai Lilin, the naturalized Italian writer from Transnistria known to the general public for his book Siberian Education. In recent weeks, Lilin has returned to the spotlight after announcing his candidacy in the European elections in June among the ranks of «Pace Terra Dignità», Michele Santoro’s list. In the past, the writer originally from Bender (Moldova) also stood out for spreading false news, in particular regarding the war in Ukraine and the massacre at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow. And perhaps it is precisely following these episodes that Instagram decided to block his profile. A move that Lilin ironically defines as «yet another lesson on “freedom of speech” from Western social media». About a month ago, the writer’s Facebook page, which had approximately 200 thousand members, was also closed.
