It’s Monday again and for three weeks this means only one thing for fans of A Song of Ice and Fire: it’s time to see one new episode of House of the Dragon. The third episode of the second season, The mill on firehas given fans a surprise, all thanks to a surprising cameo.

WARNING: contains spoilers for House of the Dragon 2×03

Much of the episode is a tug-of-war between the war and the ongoing peace between the two factions, but many scenes are dedicated a Daemon Targaryen. After the heavy discussion he had with her wife and regina Rhaenyrathe late king’s brother travels from Dragonstone to conquer Harrenhalldark fortress that also ne Game of thrones it was the scene of terrible events.

Once inside the castle walls set on fire – probably by Larys Strong to kill his father and brother – Daemon finds no resistance but rather a castellan ready to surrender and swear loyalty to the Queen of the Blacks. During the night, however, the Prince begins to have strange visions…

Right in one of these scenes, here is the surprise cameo of House of the Dragon: for a few moments the fans saw again Milly Alcockthe actress he played the young Rhaenyra in the first episodes of the first season, and then pass the character to Emma D’Arcy. Harrenhal is said to be a cursed fortress, inhabited by ghosts and in fact Rhaenyra is busy mending the head of Jaehaerys Targaryenil son of Aegon II slain during the first episode from Blood and Cheeseon the (misrepresented) orders of Daemon himself.

«It was easy in terms of will. – said the showrunner Ryan Condal to Entertainment Weekly to explain how it was possible to keep the cameo secret – We were very happy with the possibility. Milly couldn’t wait to come back and we were all happy to have her back with us.”.

A very successful coup, so much so that it overshadows another great event anticipated in those very scenes. After that vision, in fact, a woman (Alys Rivers) tells Daemon that he will die there, in Harrenhal. All this brings us back to what was written by George R.R. Martin in Fire & Bloodwhere Daemon actually gets killed in that fortress during what is known as Battle Above the Gods Eyeor the clash between Daemon and Caraxes and the nephew Aemond e Vhagar. Events that we could see already at the end of the second season or later, but as per tradition another prophecy has been “launched” and now the character marches towards his destiny.

What do you think? Did you like Milly Alcock’s cameo in House of the Dragon 2×03? Tell us your opinion in the comments.
