The interpreter of the sparkling Gabrielle Solis has anticipated that together with her Desperate Housewives colleagues she is working on a special reunion: here’s what we know.
It’s been twenty years since the lives of the desperate housewives of Wisteria Lane were turned upside down by a note that read: “I know what you did. It disgusts me. I’ll tell everything.” This is how it all began on October 3, 2004, when the first episode of Desperate Housewives it aired on ABC. The special anniversary, apparently, will not go unnoticed. From the red carpet of the Cannes festival, in fact, Eva Longoria – the interpreter of Gabrielle Solis – has announced that a special is planned to celebrate twenty years of the cult series.
A 20th anniversary special of Desperate Housewives: What we know
For the moment, there are very few details available on this special. However, we know for sure that it won’t be a spin-off, as specified by Longoria. “I miss being Gaby, I miss Wisteria Lane. It was one of the best experiences of my life. This year we celebrate 20 years of Desperate Housewives. We will have a special reunion. No, it will not be a spin-off”, were the words of the actress at the microphones of Canal+. The special, therefore, could consist of a reunion similar to the one that brought the protagonists back together in front of the cameras Friends in 2021. An informal meeting in which the protagonists could remember anecdotes related to the series and perhaps reread some memorable scenes. At the moment, however, nothing is confirmed.
In the past, Gabrielle’s interpreter had also had her say on a possible revival or reboot of the series created by Marc Cherry but she had been very skeptical about it. To her credit, Cherry wouldn’t have been interested in further exploring the lives of the housewives of Wisteria Lane. “I’ve talked to him several times. He feels there’s no reason to do it now. For the sake of a reboot, he wouldn’t do it. He thinks ‘what should I have these characters say that we haven’t explored yet?'” he said to Access Hollywood the actress who even on that occasion had underlined how much she missed acting in the role of Gabrielle. A reunion unscripted, probably, it would be the best solution that would make all the fans happy. We hope to have more updates soon.
