Peacock has ordered the production of the new series set in the universe of The Office created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman.
The cast includes Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore and filming will begin in July.
In the episodes we will see the crew that immortalized the Dunder Mifflin employees in Scranton as they go looking for a new subject and discover a historic Midwestern newspaper that is about to close its doors, even though the publisher is trying to give new strength to the publication with volunteer reporters.
Lisa Katz, president of NBCUniversal Entertainment, said:
It’s been over 10 years since the last episode of The Office aired on NBC, and the acclaimed comedy continues to gain popularity and build new generations of fans on Peacock. In partnership with Universal Television and led by the creative team of Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, this new series set in the Dunder Mifflin universe introduces a new group of characters in a fresh and ripe setting for comedic storytelling: a daily newspaper.
The new series, still without an official title, will be produced by Daniels and Koman, in collaboration with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman and Banijay Americas.
