The presenter responds in kind during the episode of her talk

A Serena Bortone She hasn’t been seen so angry on TV in a while. Exactly one week after the “Scurati case”, the presenter wanted to dedicate yesterday’s episode of “What will be” to the comparison on April 25th, on Liberation Day and on the topic of censorship. Among the guests of the episode were the writer, among others Nicola Lagioia and Massimo Magliaropresident of the Almirante Foundation and former right-hand man of the historic leader of the MSI, as well as former deputy director of Tg1, protagonists of a clash that literally made the journalist blurt out.

THE CLASH BETWEEN LAGIOIA AND MAGLIARO – The discussion was sparked by Nicola Lagioia, intellectual and former director of the Turin Book Fair, who later delivered an interesting monologue on the topic of censorship. First, however, during the debate he said bluntly: “It is the ideas that are contested, not the people. It’s not a crime to call yourself a fascist, nor is it a crime to call yourself a Nazi. But can we say that these are shitty ideas? We can say it. Not people, ideas.” A lash against Massimo Magliaro, protagonist of another clash a few days ago, on DiMartedì on La7, with the actor Ascanio Celestini, who called him a fascist: “I am, so what? What do you want to do with this? Who calls the police?”, replied Magliaro. That last night, responding to Lagioia, he said: “But I am fiercely non-Nazi and anti-Nazi. Fascism is one thing, Nazism is another thing, they have absolutely nothing to do with it: fascism has Christian origins, Nazism is pagan… They are two totally different things. Political lack of culture has made them become equal, but they are not at all.”

SERENA BORTONE FURY LIVE ON TV – At that point, Serena Bortone literally blurted out, with an unexpected reaction that went viral in a few minutes on social media: “Sorry, but I’m getting annoyed now! So is the Matteotti crime Christian?”, he shouted, addressing his guests. Then she argued: “Since I am Catholic, saying that fascism is Christian wants to include the axiom that the Matteotti crime is Christian. I don’t even get to racial laws because it’s easy to criticize… Easy so to speak, since it was an absolute aberration. But we must say that the beginning of fascism is based on the Matteotti crime. And you can’t tell me that the Matteotti crime is something Christian. I err?”. No, he’s not wrong.

MAGLIARO’S GAFFE – But another episode that occurred during the episode of What It Will Be also turned to X, and not only that. Among the guests of the Bortone program there was also the journalist Federico Fubini, journalist of The Corriere della Sera and author of the book Gold and country. In the debate between him and Magliaro, the latter at a certain point defended the Duce, saying: “Not even a coin fell from Mussolini hanging… It’s not my phrase, it’s Churchill’s.” Fubini’s reply is ready: “No, sorry, it’s by Walter Chiari. He pronounced it in 1975 from the stage of a show in Genoa”. Frost in the studio, then laughter. “If the new rulers of Italy suffered the same fate, who knows what would come out of their gentlemen’s pockets,” said the actor, who had spent his youth in the Social Republic, defending the honesty of the Duce and the fascist regime. Fubine’s book denies this version of events, based on historical data and research.
