  • A serious traffic accident occurred on the morning of Saturday 4 June near the city of Naples in southern Italy.
  • One person died and 14 people were injured.
  • An Australian tourist was on the Flixbus and says the company did not take care of the passengers after the accident.
  • The woman was injured and taken to hospital and, according to her, has not received any information from the company.
  • Flixbus claims to have been in contact with passengers.

The Australian Sinead Curry shared several videos on TikTok in which he makes serious allegations against the bus company Flixbus. Curry and his partner were in Italy on a bus traveling from Bari to Bologna. However, the vehicle crashed near Avellino, about 50 kilometers east of Naples.

The tourist says about the incident that the bus “hit something, exploded, spun and fell off an embankment”. She is one of apparently at least 14 people injured in the collision. One person died at the crash site.

A voucher «for the inconvenience»

The Australian was taken to hospital for treatment. But the traumatized passengers have heard nothing from the company for hours.

Curry says travelers were offered what appeared to be a €10 automatic meal voucher “for the inconvenience” after the crash, but have heard no further news from the company.

She herself tried to contact the bus company for information. “Flixbus, none of your numbers work, they ring it and then hang up,” she said in a video on TikTok.

Flixbus is investigating the incident

Flixbus has announced that it has set up a passenger assistance hotline. “Flixbus is in close contact with all local authorities and is working closely with them to investigate the cause of the event,” a spokesman said in a statement obtained by the ABC news channel.

The company also says: “Outgoing calls were made to passengers who had registered their mobile numbers, and emails were sent to passengers with instructions.” At all times, the safety of passengers and drivers is the company’s top priority.
