The altimetry of the third stage Piacenza – Turin, which will cross our province
ALESSANDRIA – Here we are. The long wait is about to end. Today is Tour de France dayyellow also lights up the province, from Pontecurone to Bergamasco and at the entrance to the Asti area towards Turin, the finish line of the third stage.
The start will be at 11.35 from Piacenza, with Tadej Pogacar in the yellow jersey: with his 230 kilometers and 800 meters is the longest stage of the 111th edition, dedicated to sprinters. After the first 65 flat kilometers, in Tortona the race will be faced a short Grand Prix of the Mountain, with a length of 1.1 kilometers and a slope of 6.3 percent dedicated to Fausto Coppi.
About twenty kilometers after the runners they will compete at the flying finish line in Alessandria, in the Gamondio terrace, near the Valfré Barracks. After which the road will start to get slightly more undulating.
At ‘-75’ there is the Barbaresco climb (1.5 km at 6.5%), while 25 kilometers the last rough patch of the stage will be climbed, the Sommariva Perno (3.1 km at 4.6%). After a slight descent, the final kilometers will in fact be completely flat, with the approach to Turin taking place from the south passing through Carmagnola, Carignano, Vinovo and Stupinigi.

Il final straight is on Corso Galileo Ferrariswhere there will be a VIP stand where they will also take their seats the four students who, with their drawings, won the “Dictée du Tour” competition.
Bans and closures
The roads crossed by the Tour will be closed to traffic three hours before the race, also to allow the passage of the advertising caravan, with eighty vehicles.
In Tortona closing from 10am. The route includes the entrance from via Emilia Nord, largo Carabinieri d’Italia, largo Europa, corso Romita, piazza Roma, via XX Settembre, viale Vittorio Veneto, from where the runners will climb the Castle hill, in viale Fausto and Serse Coppi, where the mountain grand prix is. Then Strada Fornaci, Via Caduti della Libertà, Corso Don Orione, Via Balustra, ring road, the Liebig roundabout, road to Alessandria in the direction of the capital. In these streets there is also a parking ban starting from 7 am until the end of the event.

Where to follow the stage
Besides that along the roadsthe best points to follow the stage in Tortona areor Largo Carabinieri d’Italia, the castle climb (where you can also arrive by bike, but by 10am) and the Liebig roundabout.
