Exciting qualifying for Round 14 of Formula E. On the second day of testing in Portland, Jean-Éric Vergne conquers first position on the starting grid of the race which will start at 11pm. An amazing result for the Frenchman, who also becomes the man with the most pole positions in the history of the World Championship with electric cars: 17. Success arrived with a time of 1’08″779, while the other finalist and winner of Round 13 , António Félix da Costa, finished in 1’08″804: just 25 seconds behind the two contenders for pole.
A great ride by Vergne, who on his way to the first position on the grid managed to overcome the qualifications in the quarter-finals and then eliminated the leader of the World Championship Nick Cassidy (Jaguar) and Robin Frijns (Envision Racing), before beating da Costa who will start from the second position in the Porsche. Good for the McLarens: third Bird, overtaken in the semi-final by the Portuguese, fifth Hughes.
