He was spending a holiday in Sardinia, his homeland, when he lost his life following a road accident.
The man, Maggiorino Festa, 44 years old, born in Cagliari and resident in Ostra, died this morning while, aboard his Nissan Xtrail, he was travelling along the Provincial Road 10 towards Putzu Idu.
According to what has emerged so far, he was headed to a friend’s house when, for reasons currently being investigated by the Carabinieri, in San Vero Milis, in the Oristano area, he left the road and ended up in a reed bed. The car with the 44-year-old inside, however, was presumably noticed only a few hours after the accident. The car had in fact remained largely hidden by the vegetation into which it had ended up.
The alarm was given by some passing motorists. The fire brigade and 118 also intervened on the spot.
