After the incredible success of the programming of Genoa, European capital of sport 2024, 2025 will also be a year full of satisfactions for Liguria and its capital. The European Fencing Confederation has in fact announced that the Superba will host the European Championships 2025one of the most prestigious international sporting events that will enrich the calendar of Liguria European sports region 2025.
Superba and Liguria are therefore destined to become European queens of the Olympic discipline in which Italy has won the highest number of medals (well 130, of which 49 gold, 46 silver and 35 bronze). “The European Championships in Genoa will certainly be one of the flagship events of a truly special year: fencing is an excellence of the national sporting movement and our great champions have demonstrated this for the umpteenth time in Basel”, were in fact some of the statements from the regional councilor for Sport Simona Ferro.
