San Benedetto dei Marsi – A new regional vehicle for fighting forest fires was delivered yesterday to the PIVEC Civil Protection group of the Valle del Giovenco detachment. The delivery ceremony was held in the square in front of the Colonnade of Palazzo dell’Emiciclo, seat of the Abruzzo Regional Council. In all, 20 pick ups were delivered to the municipalities of the internal areas.
These vehicles, equipped with firefighting modules and all the equipment, were taken care of by the Volunteer Organizations based in the Internal Areas and affiliated for forest firefighting with the Regional PC Agency according to the indications determined directly by the Internal Areas . The mayors of the lead municipalities also signed the agreement to guarantee the maintenance of the commitments undertaken with the organizations.
In addition to the President of the Region Marco Marsilio, the regional councillors Mario Quaglieri (Internal Areas) and Emanuele Imprudente (Forest Heritage) were present, as well as the Prefect of L’Aquila, Giancarlo Di Vincenzo, the director of the Regional Civil Protection Agency, Mauro Casinghini, the mayors of the Internal Areas and the representatives of the PC Volunteer associations affiliated for the AIB activities.
