Brunelli unstoppable in Olympic weightlifting: gold medal in the Bentegodi home.
Great performance for the Bentegodi champion, Carlotta Brunelli, at the national finals of the Italian Olympic weightlifting championships. These were held at the state police sports center in Fiumicino, Rome, June 23rd.
Brunelli literally swept the field in the 71 kg category, lifting 96 in the clean and 113 in the clean, for a total of 209 kg. A performance that has it consecrated for the umpteenth time absolute Italian champion.
At thirty-one years of age and after recent knee surgery, the champion from Verona never ceases to amaze it’s at 17 years after his first Italian rookie title, conquered at the age of fourteen, in 2007, it still holds firm head to the youngest and most talented athletes.
The enthusiasm in the Bentegodi household is sky high for the overall Italian title brought to Verona in the last race of the year, the most important of 2024. This the four-year Olympic period 2021-2024, full of successes in female and male field, in all age groups, from the very young thirteen-year-olds to the older and more popular ones senior and master athletes.
