The CGIL, CISL and UIL unions after the meeting with Occhiuto: “For the Abraham dispute, a one-month extension. For the Sin Crotone clean-up, commitment to review the regional waste plan”

“Yesterday a meeting took place between the general secretaries of CGIL, CISL and UIL Calabria, the president of the regional council Roberto Occhiuto and the councilor for labor Giovanni Calabrese to discuss important regional labor issues: the Abraham dispute, the stabilization of the Tis and the Amaco dispute, the issue of the Crotone reclamation. As regards the Abraham dispute, on the resolution of which a one-month extension was obtained from Tim, President Occhiuto has undertaken to obtain, by making the most of the delay, the opening of a table at the Ministry of Made in Italy, which will see the participation of Minister Urso, Minister Calderone, Tim’s top management and the confederal trade unions”.

This was stated in a joint note by the Calabrian general secretaries of the three unions, Angelo Sposato, Tonino Russo and Maria Elena Senese. “CGIL, CISL and UIL – they continue – have reiterated that the solution must concern all workers under the same conditions and in continuity. In the meantime, he has announced substantial support for the ongoing digitalization project.”

“For the Tis, considering the many years of training experience of male and female workers – say the trade unionists – we are working on a form of contractualization at the same bodies where they operate through the internalisation of some services provided to citizens. This path, to be considered open-ended, must include a form of financial support from the region and the government. To facilitate this process, we are considering offering workers over 60 the possibility of obtaining an incentive for voluntary redundancy. Also in this case, a round table will be set up at the Ministry of Public Administration, also in the presence of the ANCI to find solutions and overcome regulatory constraints. For the Amaco dispute, however, we will proceed quickly to start a discussion with the councilor Emma Staine, the trade unions and the liquidator in order to identify the best solution to safeguard jobs”.

“These meetings and the initiatives undertaken – say Sposato, Russo and Senese – represent an important step forward for the resolution of the work problems that afflict the region, demonstrating the commitment of the institutions and trade unions in finding concrete and shared solutions”.

“Furthermore – conclude trade unionists – on the matter of the Crotone reclamation the president has undertaken to review and bring back to the council, at the request of CGIL, CISL and UIL, the regional waste plan for the necessary modifications and to avoid the equalization of waste disposal special waste to ordinary waste. The poisons in Calabria must be removed by Eni which must assume all responsibilities for disposal outside Calabria”.
