PISTOIA – Monday 24 June, at 9.30 amat the Società Agricola Niccolai Elio e Figli, in Via Vecchia Fiorentina, 665 in Quarrata, Coldiretti Pistoia for the benefit of its members has organized a demonstration in the nursery in which nursery companies can participate, to verify the effectiveness of biological weeding carried out with a high pressure equipment with high concentration ozone, created by MET, a Bolognese company.
The machine combines two technologies, namely high-pressure nebulization and high-concentration ozone. The high pressure cuts the weeds, while the high-concentration ozone, injected into the first 2 cm of the soil, has a phytotoxic action, so that, for some time, the weeds do not grow, and when they then grow again, they do so very slowly, given the inhibitory action received, as well as carrying out a sanitizing action on the surface spores.
“We are constantly looking for new solutions to continue on the path of innovation and sustainability – explains the technical manager of Coldiretti Pistoia Michele Bellandi -. We will see the effectiveness of the proposed technique, its environmental benefits, and the degree of adaptability to nursery crops. On Monday we will have more precise data and from there we will start to make the appropriate assessments together with the companies.”
