A special day: the presentation of the book “San Benedict and the Popes from Umbria to Europe” by Prof.Ugolini

The presentation of the volume entitled Saint Benedict and the Popes From Umbria to Europe took place a few days ago in the Sala del Palazzo Soliano (Emilio Greco Museum) in the presence of His Excellency the Bishop, Monsignor Gualtiero Sigismondi, of the Headmaster, prof. ssa Cristiana Casaburo, guests and all the students of the prof. Stefano Ugolini, author of the book. It is impossible not to leave a testimony of the extraordinary morning that we experienced in great harmony of feeling.

After the introduction of the authorities, such as the president of the Opera del Duomo, Andrea Taddei who welcomed us into the Hall and the director of the Trasimeno-Orvietano GAL, Dr. Francesca Caproni who supported the publication, the Director presented the research work in its intrinsic value and in relation to the figure of Saint Benedict. It was above all the words of the Bishop and the Prior Emeritus of the Monastery of San Benedetto da Norcia, Father Càssian Folsom, that sucked us into a silence of reflection on ourselves and on the meaning of our existence through the Rule of San Benedetto, and which implied a whole very rapid examination of our soul inclinations and our relationship with the “things” of the world.

And Professor Ugolini entered this atmosphere and then explained the lines, the itinerary and the sources of his research work correlated with images. It was a joy to witness the interest of the public and even more so the demonstration of esteem for the professor who is a source of pride for the Liceo Artistico of Orvieto. A special day, which we would not like to forget. (MP)
