The accident has reignited the debate over safety in youth racing
Tragedy in the world of motoring. Lorenzo Somaschininew pilot 9 yearsdied in an accident during a race on the circuit Interlagosin Brazil. Lorenzo Somaschini was considered one promise of Argentine motorcycling. Born on July 17, 2014 in Rosario, he had shown a talent early for two wheels ever since his father gave him one mini motorcycle at the age of 4 years. Since then, Somaschini had participated in numerous races, chasing his dream of racing in MotoGP.
The organizers of Superbike Brasil have expressed their opinion condolences: “All members of the SuperBike Brasil team are shocked from what happened and express sincere condolences to all of Lorenzo’s family and friends.” However, the incident has reignited the debate on safety in motorcycle races youth. Despite increasingly stringent protocols, the risk remains one constant in this high-speed sport.
