A gold medal for Alga Atletica Arezzo at the regional finals of the Club Championship in the Boys category. The event took place in Pietrasanta and brought together the best Tuscan athletes born in the two-year period 2011-2012 who emerged from previous interprovincial trials in the various speed, jumping and throwing specialties, with the Arezzo club which was able to compete in such a prestigious context with two athletes: Daniel Fiani and Mattia Falciani. A very high level performance was signed by Fiani who became regional champion in the 60m with 8.08 seconds with which he beat thirty-one peers, then he also did well in the shot put where he deserved fifth place with 11.91 metres. Falciani was also back among the protagonists. Born in 2012 and competing against athletes one year older, he deserved fourth place in the high jump with 1.52 meters and fifth place in the long jump with 4.75 meters.

The youth sector of Alga Atletica Arezzo also found satisfaction at the Montevarchi Provincial Championships where they achieved eight golds, two silvers and one bronze. Confirmation came from Falciani himself who, among the boys, achieved a double victory in the 60 hurdles with 9.1 seconds and in the long jump with 5.16 metres, then in the same category Lisa Rossi did well who triumphed in the 60 hurdles with 9.9 seconds. Positive placings were achieved by the 2009-2010 Cadets with five provincial titles with Gemma Fabbriciani (first in the long jump with 5.11 metres), Filippo Misuri (first in the long jump with 5.95 metres), Asia Novelli (first in the 1,000 meters with 3 :56.2 minutes), Duccio Sandroni (first in the 1,000 meters with 2:58.7 minutes) and Alessandro Segantini (first in the 300 meters with 40.5 seconds), then Stella Arniani took silver around her neck in the 80 meters with 10.4 seconds and the bronze in the long jump with 4.89 meters. Alga Atletica Arezzo’s palmares was finally enriched by Francesco Tortorelli’s second place in the long jump with 5.67 metres. «Presence at the regional finals of the Boys’ Club Championship – comments Gloria Sadocchi, coach and manager of the club, – it is a reason for particular enthusiasm because it means that two of our athletes were able to deserve a place among the best promises of Tuscan youth athletics. The weekend was further enriched by the good results at the Provincial Championships, confirming the quality of the preparation process of our male and female athletes».
