Many guests attended an evening that celebrates the experience of women in society and culture

On June 21st the Rotary Club of Corato organized a meeting entitled “Female Leadership… in Corato” in the spaces of the Ausonia Nurseries.

In the year in which the Corato Rotary was led by the first female president, many Corato cultural or voluntary associations are chaired by women who will tell their experience, in some cases multi-year, in the field.

The evening also includes the presentation of the project, strongly supported by Gabriella Caruso, wife of the governor of Rotary District 2120, relating to the publication of the book “The
Women of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights”, written by the journalist Enrica Simonetti who will be present at the evening.

Rotary donated this text to the high schools of Corato which was the object and pretext of study for the students of the 3rd A and 3rd C classes of the ITET Tannoia, led by the teachers Lucia
Albanese, Margherita Balducci, Marina Mazzilli and Tania Sciscioli and the school director Nunzia Tarantini.

Two other great women, Cardenia Casillo and Nicolangela Nichilo, respectively president of the “Vincenzo Casillo Foundation” and the “Cannillo Foundation”, will illustrate how they have had an impact with their foundations in promoting innovation and social change in our territory.

At the end of this women’s evening, the last two services of this Rotary year which is quickly coming to an end will be delivered.

The proceeds from the sale of aromatic plants organized by the Rotary Corato last 25 and 26 May as part of the PrimaVera Fest will be donated to the RiscoprirSi anti-violence center which operates in the area. Furthermore, the club will finance the publication of the volume on Gaetano Paloscia, a painter and decorator of the last century, very active in Corato.

All this demonstrating that “Every woman is a flower… a flower that should not be cut”.
