Hospital ceiling collapses, one injured

In the early afternoon of today, an accident shook the Rizzoli hospital in Ischia, located in Lacco Ameno. The collapse of an air conditioner and the false ceiling made urgent rescue and safety interventions necessary. The accident caused one minor injury and required emergency services for a pregnant woman who suffered a severe fright. Both were promptly assisted by the medical staff present on site.

Precautionary Measures and Transfers
The ASL Napoli 2 Nord, on which the Rizzoli hospital depends, has announced that three rooms in the surgery department have been closed as a precaution. The patients occupying these rooms have been transferred to other departments to ensure their safety and continuity of care.

Technical investigations and checks
The causes of the collapse are currently under investigation by technicians, who are carrying out further checks to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and prevent future similar episodes.

Access Changes
To allow for the safety of the structure, the main entrance of the Rizzoli hospital has been temporarily closed. However, healthcare services continue to be provided regularly thanks to the opening of the rear entrance, through which patients and visitors can access the departments.
