Bbelch accident this morning in Misano for the Norwegian driver Mia Rusthen. The accident occurred in Race 1 of the women’s world championship.
With seven laps to go, Rusthen went long at the last corner and ended up against the guards.
It was exposed Red flagrescuers arrived on site and the images of the accident were not shown again.
Mia Rusthen is 22 years old and last year she ran the women’s European Championship with the Trasimeno team.
At 12.20pm the Race Direction announced that WWCR race 1 had been postponed to the afternoon, with a time still to be defined.
update 1.30pm: the pilot reported a polytrauma and was transferred to the Bufalini hospital in Cesena.
3pm update: race 1 of the women’s world championship has been rescheduled for 4pm. Duration 5 laps
4pm update: lto pilot no. 29 of the WorldWCR Mia Rusthen suffered a concussion and is currently being treated at the Bufalini Trauma Center in Cesena. The patient’s condition has stabilized.
update at 8.30pm: Mia’s family released the following statement: “Mia is currently in an artificial coma. She underwent surgery to relieve pressure on her head and bleeding. The doctors were confident and satisfied with the outcome of the surgery. surgery: her vital signs and pressure in her brain are stable. We appreciate the loving thoughts and messages sent to Mia. This means everything to us right now, even though she is the toughest woman in the world!”
