Price, June 15th – Nine Municipalities involved for 18 appointments with the authors who will deal with various themes: from the path of internal growth to safety in the workplace, from the problems of internal areas to the international issue of the war in Ukraine, from inclusion to the change in life prospects after a illness, without forgetting the beauty of poetry and celebrating the divine Eleonora Duse in the year, 2024, dedicated to the celebrations for her centenary of her death.
The 2024 edition of “I read for self-defense” kicks off on June 15, at 6.30 pm in Prezza, with the presentation of the novel “Adventurous life of a Cantabrian anchovy” by Lucio Di Cicco (L’Orma Editore), at the mayor and vice president of the regional council Marianna Scoccia will host the honours, while she will dialogue with the author Grasso Chiara Buccini, journalist and artistic director of Leggo for self-defence, the interpretation of the passages chosen from the book being presented is by the actors Francesca Galasso and Pietro Becattini, musical performances by Ruben Di Mattia.
“Adventurous life of a Cantabrian anchovy” is a novel that evokes the magical realism of the great South American storytellers.
The protagonist is the picaresque sailor Giovanni, the story begins while Giovanni tells his unfortunate executioner how he came across the noose that in a few hours will make him food for the sharks. The adventure had begun when, as a child, already with the carabinieri on his tail, he had found refuge under the rigging of a fishing vessel that seemed abandoned.
The ship had sailed, and the hideout had turned into the journey of a lifetime…
