Pallapugno series B: Bubbio fights on the square, but Monticellese wins

Bubbio 5 – Monticellese 9

Bubbio. «It was certainly one of the best tests of the season: we fought and even missed the opportunity to get back into the race with a score of 5-7 for them: in the 13th game we played the unique chase, losing it, the possible 6-7 that would have reopened the game.”

These are the immediate words of the all-round manager Marco Tardito at the end of the match played on the Piazza del Balòn in Bubbio on the evening of Thursday 13 June, which saw Monticellese from Faccenda prevail 9-5.

Strong start from Faccenda and his teammates, helped a lot by Bruno who immediately made it 1-0; then a local draw for 1-1, but a sudden extension by the guests which takes the lead to 5-1. Stefano Marenco and his teammates didn’t give up and went into the break two games down 3-5.

The second half saw S.Marenco increase the range of the ball in service but Faccenda was no exception, adding two plays to take the lead 7-3. Bubbio doesn’t let go: they score two more, getting closer and going 5-7, but the last two games belong to Monticellese who gets the point and relaunches themselves into the top part of the rankings.
