The victims of the fire, broke out in the Gambara area of ​​Milan, they are Silvano Tollardo, 67 years old, his wife Carolina De Luca, 63 years old, and the couple’s son, Antonio Tollardo, 34 years old. The fire, which broke out around 7pm in via Fra Galgario 8, quickly reached the first three floors of the condominium above, forcing all residents to evacuate.

The flames quickly spread from the workshop on the ground floor, quickly enveloping the third-floor apartment where the Tollardo family lived. According to the medical examiner’s initial indications, the victims apparently died of smoke poisoning. Silvano, Carolina and Antonio were found lifeless by rescuers inside their home, now invaded by toxic smoke and flames.

Fire in Milan: the intervention of rescuers

The fire required massive intervention by the firefighters, with several teams sent both from the via Sardegna detachment and from the via Messina operations center. The area was immediately made safe and the condominium was evacuated to prevent further risks. Among the injured is an employee of the workshop where the flames started.

Three medical vehicles and six ambulances responded to the scene of the accident, guaranteeing immediate assistance to the injured and evacuated residents. One of the injured was transported under yellow code to the Polyclinic for medium severity burns, while three others were classified as green. The latter were treated on site for minor poisoning and burns.

The authorities are investigating the precise causes of the fire, trying to understand how it could have started from the workshop and then spread so quickly to the apartments above. The investigators are examining whether all safety regulations have been respected inside the garage and whether there was any negligence that contributed to the accident. Fire brigade teams are working to clear the area, ensuring there is no further risk of fire or collapse.
